Painting: Free Like The Birds

After a moment of inspiration; a painting was began. Free Like The Birds.

I decided I would share with you all the stages along the way, the process so to speak. And after seven hours of work, drying time and whatnot, the final result. Please pay no attention to the icky background that is my computer chair and the not so wonderful lighting. Photos were taken throughout the day (obviously) and with my cell phone haha.

That I decided to play around with in Photoshop some, there was just something that needed to be done with the previous version and really it was eating away at me for the past little while.

Just A Girl: Final

I am quite happy with how this one turned out. It had been a long time coming and well I finally got the necessary inspiration to finish it. Available in the usual photo print finishes, in quite a few sizes, as well as the mugs and postcards. Sadly it not available in the canvas, fine art prints or wrapped canvas, the image gets cropped far too much for those.

Work in progress: Just A Girl.

This started as a line art: Black ink on white paper, ages ago. And now I have begun the process of colouring/finishing her up in order to ready for print.

Where does it go from here? I do not know, this is as far as I have gotten. What do you all think? I am of course open to any and all suggestions, what I do know is that it must keep the retro vibe, browns and oranges for the colour range. Hmm such a dilemma!

A Request for my Friends & Watchers

'Allo everyone!

I need your assistance in finishing/creating a section of my website. Specifically the 'About' page. As you may or may not know, I am in the process of switching formats from a regular HTML based site with little to no interaction available, to a WordPress one.

So far so good!

What I need from you all [or those of you who wish to heed my request] is questions.

What kind of questions you ask, and why?

Well I would like to have a more personalized about page, better than the typical blurb one writes about themselves which tends to come off somewhat lame [in my opinion anyway]. I was thinking that a question and answers type of format would be more interesting to read by visitors.
So the type of questions I am after are those of maybe what would be asked in an interview setting, things one would ask an artist ...pretty standard ones I suppose. Then as an added. more personal line of questioning, those that delve deeper into ...well me as a person.

I will take all that are asked and post them on this page along with my answers. But please, keep in mind this is my 'profession' and immaturity will not even be considered ...these types of things will more than likely be past over without a second glance, or at the worst, a not so appreciative response will be given to the poster from me.

Think about your questions, what would you like to know? What curiosities do you have? Then post them here as a reply, or if you're feeling shy you can email them to me in a private manner.

The entire website is being moved to WordPress format. This I think is much more conducive to how I think it should be run and laid out. Ease of use was a big factor in this decision of course. No more pop-ups, no more small thumbnails, and all information easily found, thus making navigation much more user friendly. Heck one can even leave a comment here and there, with limitations of course. I don't need every tom, dick and robot spamming me now do I? :]

It's now more of a portfolio with the added bonus of all the information needed for purchases etc.

Anyway, check it out if you so desire, more content is being added back as the minutes tick by. This is of course by no means a quick and painless process, but it is all coming back regardless.

I know, I know ...ages since I've posted anything [art or otherwise], shit happens...

Anyway, a new print from an old sketch [2005]. I went back to my pencil then colour in photoshop for this one and it actually turned out exactly the way I wanted.

It's slightly girlier than I normally do, slightly pink, but it's nice...
